The NAR-tional Day of Prayer
Churches across the nation will take part in the National Day of Prayer this Thursday (May 4), unaware that this event was overtaken by New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) theology and practices many years ago. NAR influence has come from the top leadership, whose board of directors includes “apostles” and the leaders of NAR organizations, including the Justice House of Prayer D.C.
NAR practices and buzzwords are promoted and referenced throughout the National Day of Prayer website and materials, including the dominionist Seven Mountain Mandate (or "seven societal spheres of influence"), prayer declarations, and warfare prayer. It's no coincidence that the Scripture passage used as a proof text for the core NAR doctrine that apostles and prophets are supposed to govern the church, Ephesians 4:11-13, is featured on the National Day of Prayer website, in an article written by Kathy Branzell, the president of the National Day of Prayer Task Force.
